What is Server Load?
Posted by Pacific Host, Last modified by Pacific Host on 04 December 2011 06:52 AM
Load expresses how many processes are waiting in the queue to access the computer processor. Of course, this is calculated for a certain period of time and of course, the smaller the number, the better.

Why is my server load high?

Likely another user is causing high loads. Our technicians will be notified automatically in this event and we will suspend that person and restore the server to a normal load. If you are on a VPS, Hybri or Dedicated Server the server load is likely related to processes running on your machine, you can diagnose what processes are running by typing "top" in your SSH Terminal. If you still need assistance please contact our Support Department.
