Wildcard DNS, what is it and how do I use it?
Posted by Pacific Host on 04 December 2011 09:58 AM

Wildcard DNS makes it so that any subdomain redirects to a specific location. So, if you have wildcard DNS setup to goto http://domain.com/example ...

Then, if anyone types randomjunk.domain.com or fakename.domain.com, it will goto http://domain.com/example

You can add this record to your DNS zones if you have WHM. If you want us to do this for you, simply open a ticket with our Support Department to request this setup.
