Installing PHPmotion to a sub-folder
Posted by Pacific Host on 05 December 2011 06:34 AM

If you have installed PHPmotion in a subfolder (examples shown below)

  1. www.mydomain.com/sunfolder
  2. www.mydomain.com/videos
  3. www.mydomain.com/phpmotion
etc

You will need to follow this additional step, otherwise you will get PAGE NOT FOUND errors on your website

Instructions

When you have finished all the steps in the installation wizard, you must now edit one file that came with the PHPmotion download.

File to edit: /.htaccess (this file is in the package you downloaded)

Open this file with a text editor like notepad and find the section below
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

RewriteBase /

Change it to include your sub-folder name (example)
--------------------------------------------------

RewriteBase /myvideos

Save the file and upload it into your ftp where all your other PHPmotion files are
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thats it.
